YUNDT FOUNDATION

Home About YUNDT FOUNDATION

Two longtime Vinton residents gave the ultimate gift back to the community they loved.
The Charles and Helen Yundt Charitable Foundation was established in 2024 to maximize the long term quality of life of the greater Vinton, Iowa community with a particular emphasis on health and education. The main purpose of the Foundation will be its scholarships.
The qualifications for the scholarship are:
1. Attends or attended the Vinton-Shellsburg High School
2. Has financial needs
3. Has shown a strong work ethic in their everyday life.
4. Is currently enrolled or wishes to enroll in a trade or vocational school or Community College in order to pursue a specific trade, skill, certification, or degree.

Those applying do not require an impressive academic record to qualify for the scholarship and the Board should give preference to applicants who do not otherwise qualify for academic scholarships.
What this means is that individuals who graduated from or attended Vinton-Shellsburg High School, no matter their age or how long they have been out of school, can apply for the scholarship, which will be for a minimum of $1,000.00.
The intent in creating a scholarship program is to assist those students who are less likely to receive scholarships elsewhere, but who are willing to invest in their own futures through vocational or community college and who demonstrate the work ethic and dedication necessary to see the plan through to conclusion.
